Former Super Eagles invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor is no longer a free agent, with Chinese League One side Ningbo FC officially announced the signing of the attacker on Wednesday.
The dynamic winger joins the club following his departure from UAE outfit Al Orooba at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 campaign, marking a return to Chinese football after a productive previous spell in the country.
Solomon-Otabor earlier featured for Chinese Super League side Cangzhou Mighty Lions during the 2024 season, where he recorded 12 goal involvements in 30 appearances.
His influential displays, particularly in the closing stages of the campaign, were instrumental in preserving the club’s top-flight status.
A gproduct of the Crystal Palace academy, Solomon-Otabor has enjoyed a diverse professional career, representing Birmingham City, Blackpool, Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic in England.
He has also gained valuable experience abroad with Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia in 2019 and Ukrainian club FC Rukh Lviv in 2022.
In 2025, he moved to the United Arab Emirates to join Al Orooba, registering three goals and two assists in 11 appearances.
Renowned for his explosive acceleration and top-end pace, Solomon-Otabor is a classic wide player who poses a constant threat on the counter-attack.
Beyond his speed, he offers refined technical quality, combining assured dribbling ability with intelligent distribution in the final third.
On the international stage, he received a call-up to the Super Eagles in 2019 and was an unused substitute in Nigeria's 1–1 draw against Brazil in a high-profile friendly in Singapore.
