England Women's team coach and Manchester United legend Phil Neville has lavished praise on Tammy Abraham following his hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday, September 14.
Having been heralded as the most prolific striker at the Chelsea Academy, Abraham struggled in his first season in the Premier League, scoring only 5 goals in 31 matches during his time at Swansea City, a figure he has already surpassed this season.
Now, he has regained his confidence after another loan spell at Aston Villa, for whom he scored 26 goals in 40 appearances in the 2018-2019 campaign.
Reflecting on the latest round of games, Neville said on Premier League Matchday Live Extra : ''He had to take a step down to Villa, got some confidence. You know what, he had actually scored four goals (against Wolves).
''It's great what Chelsea are doing, playing those young kids. He has got a whole season to cement his place in the team and he got a manager who believes in him.
''He had a tough start to the season, he got a bit of stick for missing a penalty in the Super Cup.
''He'll always be in the right place at the right time, and now it looks like he's got the confidence and belief to go with it.''
With seven goals to his name, Abraham is the joint-leading scorer in the English Premier League after five matches.
Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche faced the media on Thursday, two days before his side's Premier League trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, and provided a fitness update on his squad.
