Former Nigeria U20 international Sammy Ameobi has won the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for December 2016.<br /><br />Ameobi&rsquo;s strike in Bolton Wanderers 4-0 rout of Gillingham won the poll, and he received 68 percent of the votes.<br /><br />He picked the ball up in midfield, strode forward, then stepped inside on the edge of the box and clipped an unstoppable shot into the far corner. <br /><br />To win the accolade, Ameobi saw off competition from Ian Henderson (Rochdale) and Gwion Edwards ( Peterborough).<br /><br />The 24-year-old is back at his parent club Newcastle United after spending the first half of the season at <span class="_Xbe">BL6 6JW.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br /></span>Photo Credit : bwfc.co.uk<br />
