Former Nigeria U17 international Ibrahim Said says it is his ambition to play for Spanish side Barcelona one day.
The Dabo Babes Academy box-to-box midfielder is celebrating his 18th birthday today, Monday, meaning he's now eligible to join a foreign club but the coronavirus pandemic has prevented him from traveling to Europe.
Said was one of the few players that impressed for the Golden Eaglets at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, with the highlight of his performance in Brazil being the hat-trick he netted against Ecuador in the group stage.
"My plan now is to move to Europe and I hope to play well when I join the club, " said Said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"My agents and team manager are in talks with some European clubs and soon I'll travel, the embassies are closed so I can't apply for a visa to Europe yet.
"I can play in any position they put me on the pitch, apart from goalkeeper. I can play, 2,3,4, 8, 10 but I like to play on the wing like Ahmed Musa."
When asked to mention his dream club, Said responded : "I'd like to play for Barcelona, I have been supporting Barcelona since I was a child because I like Lionel Messi.
"I support Barcelona because they play the passing game. By the grace of God, I'll play for the club one day".
Said recently signed a representative agreement with London-based Intellisight Sports Management Limited and the contract expires in 2022.
