Former Tottenham Hotspur coach Harry Redknapp has denied speculation linking him with the Super Eagles coaching job.
It was claimed that the Nigeria Football Federation were negotiating with the respected English football tactician to take over from Gernot Rohr whose contract would have expired at the end of next month if had not agreed a new deal.
Redknapp has been to Nigerian before, in July 2008 when he was coaching the Portsmouth side that lost 2-1 to Manchester United in a pre-season friendly staged at the National Stadium in Abuja.
"Quizzed on the Nigeria job by talkSPORT, Redknapp joked : "Yeah, well I spoke to Sandra and she’s always wanted to live in Nigeria…
"She said it’s amazing that this has come up now, because that was her dream. So we’re looking to sell up, we’re putting the house on the market and we’re looking to get somewhere over there if possible.
I’m sure, she’d love it there. I’ve told her, she’d absolutely love it… hehe! I’m ready to go!"
On a serious note, Redknapp added : "I actually went there a few years ago with Portsmouth, we played Manchester United… but I don’t think I’ll really be going back".
Redknapp has been without a job since he was dismissed as Birmingham City coach in September 2017.
