Fanendo Adi has been named to Major League Soccer&rsquo;s Team of the Week for the opening day in the American top-flight.<br /><br />The Portland Timbers striker was recognized on the back of his performance in the Timbers 5-1 rout of Minnesota United in which he scored two late goals.<br /><br />In a 4-3-3 formation, Adi was named in attack along with Romell Quioto (Houston Dynamo) and David Accam (Chicago Fire).<br /><br />Adi and Diego Valeri&nbsp; combined for eight of the Timbers 13 shots against the Loons &ndash; four of them hitting the back of the net.<br /><br />One of his goals against Minnesota United has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />
