'Goals will come' - Former Porto striker backs Moffi to deliver the goods at Portuguese giants

Former FC Porto striker Bruno Moraes has expressed confidence that Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi will soon rediscover his scoring form, insisting that the Nigerian forward needs time to fully integrate into his new team setup.

Moraes made the comments while discussing Moffi’s current situation at Portuguese giants FC Porto.

Moffi joined FC Porto on loan for the remainder of the season from French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice, with the deal including an option to make the transfer permanent.

Since arriving at the Portuguese club, the forward has made two league appearances, both as a substitute, as the coaching staff continues to manage his return to full competitive rhythm following his recent absence from regular football action.

Speaking about the attacking options at the club, Moraes stressed that players like Moffi and Deniz Gul are still adapting to the team’s playing structure.

“I think the goals will come back, especially now that players like Deniz Gul and Moffi have more opportunities to integrate into the team, but they need some time to get the most out of it.” he said as quoted by Desporto ao Minuto.

Bruno Moraes further explained that the process of adaptation to a new tactical system and teammates can vary for different players.

He added, “Sometimes it happens quickly, but other times it takes longer.”

Moraes emphasized that patience is necessary when assessing attacking players who are still adjusting to new environments and expectations within the squad.

Moffi’s playing time at Porto has been carefully managed by the coaching staff, who have focused on gradually reintroducing him into competitive action rather than rushing his return to starting roles.

The forward has been utilized primarily from the bench in his early appearances for the club this season.

Discussing the importance of match fitness, team integration remains a priority for Porto’s technical staff as they continue to evaluate the best way to utilize their attacking options.

Moraes believes Moffi’s quality will eventually translate into goals once he becomes more comfortable within the team’s system and builds stronger chemistry with his teammates.
