'I can't say anything more' - Uche's coach at parent club Getafe reacts to Crystal Palace links

Speaking ahead of Getafe's Copa del Rey round-of-32 clash against Burgos, manager José Bordalás addressed widespread reports linking him with the Crystal Palace managerial position at the end of the season.

Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported four days ago that Crystal Palace have identified Bordalás as a leading candidate to succeed Oliver Glasner.

The Spanish tactician is notably the coach who handed Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche his La Liga debut last season.

Glasner's future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain, with the Austrian's contract due to expire in June 2026.

Meanwhile, Bordalás himself is approaching the final months of his deal with Getafe, which runs out in June.

Club president Ángel Torres has previously stated that the Alicante-born manager will remain at the club if he so desires, while also acknowledging that any interest from elsewhere would be fully deserved in light of his outstanding work.

When asked to comment on reports linking him with Crystal Palace, Bordalás chose to downplay the reports and reaffirmed his commitment to Getafe.

In quotes relayed by Marca,  Bordalás told reporters: "Right now I'm not paying much attention to rumors or news because I'm focused on my club, Getafe, and the match in Burgos.

"That's the focus, there’s nothing else at the moment. I can't say anything more."

Uche joined Crystal Palace on deadline day on a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Should Glasner decide not to extend his stay in south London, there is the possibility that Bordalás and Uche could be reunited at Selhurst Park, provided the Premier League side sign the Nigeria international on a permanent basis.
