Leicester City defeated Chelsea 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night courtesy of goals from Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison.
The Nigeria international gave Leicester City the lead inside six minutes as he thumped the ball home in off the far post with his weaker left foot following a short-corner routine.
Soon after Jonny Evans was millimeters away from conceding a penalty the Foxes doubled the advantage, Maddison netting for the third game running in the Premier League.
Speaking during half-time, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen noted that Leicester City's opener looked like a goal straight from the training ground and the pass was meant for Harvey Barnes who completely missed his shot.
Owen said on Premier League Productions : "It's a short corner and I want to focus on this area at the moment, you've got the goalscorer here, Ndidi and you've got the dummy run coming in here.
"Marc Albrighton is about to take it and just watch this, he's got all the space that they want to clear this path and it's meant to be for this guying going in. He miss kicks it, Harvey Barnes and it's left to Ndidi.
"It's a training ground goal but it's not really meant for the actual goalscorer".
Ndidi's strike against Chelsea was his first in the Premier League since scoring against Newcastle United on September 29, 2019.
With 38 points from 19 matches, Leicester City have gone top of the Premier League but Brendan Rodgers' side could be overtaken by both Manchester clubs if they win on Wednesday, January 20.
