Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has hinted that Dominic Solanke's future lies with Liverpool amid speculations linking him with a temporary departure from the Anfield side in the January transfer window.
Solanke was in prolific form for England U21s during the international break, netting braces in back-to-back games against Italy and Denmark to help the Young Lions record wins.
But he has found it difficult to get playing time for Liverpool this season, having missed out on the match day squad 16 times from a possible seventeen in all competitions.
The future of the Golden Ball winner at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup is a pressing concern for Klopp and the German is planning to hold clear-the-air talks with the striker.
''We will see [about his future.] Nobody should worry about the future of English football. This could be the best U21 team ever when you think about who could play for the first-team, like Trent, [Ben] Chilwell, Loftus-Cheek, Rashford,'' Klopp told reporters at Friday afternoon's press conference.
''It’s a bit difficult [Solanke’s] situation here but if Dom continues like he did so far then he will be fine.
''There’s nothing to say about short or long-term things. He is our player. If I have to decide it will stay like that.''
He added : ''We will see what happens. We want to help Dom and he can help us. That’s the target.''
Solanke refused to extend his stay at Chelsea due to his lack of first team opportunities before moving to Liverpool in the summer of 2017.
