Man City, Arsenal Wonderkids Iheanacho & Iwobi Make Final Shortlist For CAF Awards

Two of Nigeria&rsquo;s biggest talents in the shape of Manchester City&rsquo;s Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal&rsquo;s Alex Iwobi have been included in the final shortlist announced by CAF for the Most Promising Talent and Youth Player of the Year respectively.<br /><br />In his bid to scoop the accolade for the second time, Iheanacho will have to see off competition from Elia Meschak (DR Congo &amp; TP Mazembe) and Naby Keita (Guinea &amp; RB Leipzig) after CAF pruned down the final list to three players for the award.<br /><br />As for Iwobi, he has been nominated alongside Sandra Owusu-Ansah (Ghana &amp; Supreme Ladies) and Eric Ayiah (Ghana&amp; Charity FC) for the Youth Player of the Year.<br /><br />Super Falcons coach Florence Omagbemi and Asisat Oshoala have been considered for the Coach of the Year and Women&rsquo;s Player of the Year respectively, having made the final list.<br /><br />Nigeria will compete with Cameroon and South Africa for the Women&rsquo;s National Team of the Year.<br /><br />Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Iheanacho and Iwobi will not attend the award ceremony in Abuja on Thursday because of commitments with their Premier League clubs.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br />
