Manchester City have advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Youth Cup following their 4-0 rout of Southampton at the Academy Stadium on Thursday night.<br /><br />Promising midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru and Jonathan Afolabi started for City and Southampton respectively, while Saints striker Michael Obafemi replaced his teammate at half-time, but was himself substituted five minutes later after colliding with an opponent.<br /><br />Goals from Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Lukas Nmecha and Demeaco Duhaney secured the win for the Citizens.<br /><br />Dele-Bashiru bossed the midfield and was almost rewarded with a goal for his fine individual performance, but saw his effort hit the post in the 70th minute. <br /><br />Central defenders Ashinme Kigbu and Nathaniel Ogbeta were not selected by Man City tonight.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : mancity.com<br />
