Nigerian Whizkid Dele-Bashiru Comes Close To Scoring As Man City Beat Aston Villa In FAYC

Manchester City are through to the semifinals of the FA Youth Cup following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Wednesday.<br /><br />City manager Lee Carsley named Tom Dele-Bashiru in his starting line-up, while goalkeeper Emmanuel Idem was on the bench for the home team.<br /><br />Abdoul opened the scoring for Aston Villa after eight minutes, only for Sancho to equalize for the Citizens three minutes later. <br /><br />With five minutes remaining, Dele-Bashiru would have grabbed the winner for City, but was unlucky not to bury his chance, before Smith netted in the 87th minute. <br /><br />Including his strike against Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup, the midfielder has found the net three times in all competitions so far this season. <br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : mancity.com<br />
