Official: Nigeria International Striker Completes Deadline Day Move To Saudi Club Al Faisaly FC
Saudi Arabian Professional League club Al Faisaly FC have completed the signing of out of favour Nigeria international striker Joseph Akpala.
Akpala has inked a one-year deal with Al Faisaly with an option to extend for a further season and the deal was completed before the close of the transfer window today, August 23.
The Super Eagle passed the medical tests on Thursday morning, at the Viva Medical Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the presence of Mohammed Al-Mutairi.
A product of Pepsi Football Academy, Akpala started his career at Bendel United before moving to rivals Bendel Insurance and was the joint top scorer in the league along with Timothy Anjembe in 2005.
The 31-year-old has played for RSC Charleroi, Club Brugge and KV Oostende in Belgium as well as Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and Turkish club Karabükspor.
Last season, he played 40 games for KV Oostende, scoring nine goals.
