EFL League One club Accrington Stanley F.C. have confirmed on their official website the signing of Nigerian central defender Michael Ihiekwe.
The 25-year-old, a product of Liverpool Academy, has joined Stanley on a five-month loan deal which will keep him in Lancashire until January 2019.
The Liverpool-born Ihiekwe lists Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tranmere Rovers among his former clubs and played on loan at Cheltenham Town for the second half of the 2013-2014 season.
''I am delighted to be here, Accrington have obviously had a successful few years and I can’t wait to get started...,'' Ihiekwe said.
''I wanted to play regularly and was pleased when Accrington came in from me.
“I am an all-rounder, I came through at Liverpool so I like to pass the ball out from the back but I have played in the lower leagues so I know what they are all about as well.''
Michael Ihiekwe will play with the number four jersey at Accrington Stanley.
