Official: Teenage Nigeria-eligible right-back signs new Chelsea deal after West Ham exit

With a statement on the official website, Premier League giants Chelsea have announced that talented teenage defender of Nigerian descent Riley Ebho has signed a new contract with the club.

The right-back joined Chelsea from West Ham United on a scholarship deal  in October 2025.

Approximately three weeks after his seventeenth birthday, the Blues have informed that Riley has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Since his arrival from the Hammers, Ebho has represented Chelsea in the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and Premier League International Cup.

Overall, he has appeared in nine matches for the youth teams, logging 628 minutes.

The dual-national defender was called up for the UEFA Youth League matches against Qarabag and Atalanta, but has yet to debut in the competition, having remained an unused substitute in both matches.

In his final season as a schoolboy, Ebho enjoyed an impressive campaign, featuring nine times for West Ham in the U18 Premier League, and marked a notable milestone by scoring his first goal at that level in an away draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
