Through a statement on their official website, EFL League Two club Tranmere Rovers have confirmed the signing of Italian-Nigerian striker Franklyn Akammadu on loan from Italian side US Alessandria until the end of the season subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old had stops at Fiorentina, Cesena, Fermana and Prato before joining US Alessandria in a permanent deal a month ago.
Speaking on the transfer of Akammadu, manager Micky Mellon stated : ''We're excited to bring Frankyln in to the group.
"He's a young striker who we see to have a lot of potential and he's a player I feel we can develop at Tranmere which is what we want to do with all of our players.
"We've been looking at him over the last few weeks so we're excited to see what he can do whilst at the club.
"We'd like to thank US Alessandria for allowing Franklyn to join us for the season."
