Through a press release, German 2 Bundesliga side have confirmed the signing of former Flying Eagles star Suleiman Abdullahi from Eintracht Braunschweig.
The Nigerian striker signs on a loan basis initially, but the club holds the option to make the deal permanent at the end of next season.
In his first words as a Union Berlin player, Abdullahi said : ''The last few weeks weren’t easy because it wasn’t clear where I would play next season.
''I’m pleased that it has finally worked out and I know how it will progress.
''Berlin is a great city, Union is a cool club and I already know the atmosphere at the stadium.
''Now I want to get to know the team as quickly as possible and finally get back on the pitch."
For the remainder of the 2018-2019 campaign, Abdullahi will wear his preferred number 20 jersey, he was handed over the number by goalkeeper Lennart Moser, who will take on the number 30.
