PL2: Nigeria-eligible striker who shares same agent as five Super Eagles players scores four goals for Man Utd

Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent Chido Obi was the standout performer as Manchester United defeated Leicester City 4-1 in a Premier League 2 encounter on Monday, February 23.

Born in Glostrup, Denmark, the former Arsenal schoolboy is looked after by Elite Project Group, headed by Emeka Obasi, who also represents five Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Terem Moffi, Josh Maja, Joe Aribo and Ola Aina.

Obi delivered a clinical four-goal performance to inspire Manchester United U21s to victory in challenging Midlands conditions.

The 18-year-old opened the scoring in the 37th minute and restored the Red Devils' advantage on the stroke of half-time, moments after Lorenz Hutchinson had drawn the Foxes level.

Two late goals from Obi secured a commanding away victory for Manchester United, who are topping the Premier League 2 table with 33 points, two more than Chelsea.

With his double brace, the Danish-Nigerian centre-forward has now tallied fourteen goals so far this season, comprising nine in the Premier League 2, two in the FA Youth Cup and one each in the EFL Trophy, National League Cup and U18 Premier League.

Although Obi has made eight senior appearances, he has not featured for Manchester United’s first team since the final day of the 2024–2025 season.
