Portland Timbers Star Adi Up For MLS Goal Of The Week Award
One of the goal scored by Fanendo Adi in Portland Timbers<span class="body1">’s</span> 5-1 rout of Minnesota United is in the running to be named the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for the opening round of matches in the American top-flight.<br /><br />The Nigerian showed his class when his slick dribble led to a brace in the closing minutes of the encounter at Providence Park. <br /><br />Strikes from Romell Quioto (Houston Dynamo), Anibal Godoy (San Jose Earthquakes), Christian Ramirez (<span>Minnesota United)</span> and Yamil Asad (Atlanta United) have also been nominated for the Goal of the Week accolade.<br /><br />Adi<span class="body1">’s</span> brace against Minnesota United took his tally to 43 goals in 91 appearances in the regular season since his arrival in Major League Soccer.<br /><br />The 26-year-old has trained with the Golden Eaglets and Super Eagles in the past but has no caps to his name yet. <br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />
