Official: Italian-Nigerian Defender Jidayi Returns To Ravenna 13 Years After Departure
Published: July 10, 2018Italian-Nigerian center back William Jidayi has returned to Italian Serie C club Ravenna thirteen years after he left the club.
The Giallorossi have reported via their official website that the 33-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the club.
Speaking on the deal, he said : ''I am delighted and honored to go home, wear the shirt with which I grew up, and after many years return to play for the city where I was born, I will do everything to give the best to this team, these colors and this city.''
Jidayi added : ''In recent years I played as a central defender, but one of my main features is the flexibility, based on what the coach requires, there will be no problems.
''I'm ready to make myself available to him and my teammates, the important thing is to work together to achieve our goal that is to do my best in the next season "
Jidayi has more than 300 appearances to his name in
Italian football, including over 180 games in the Serie B, and counts
Pro Vercelli, Avellino, Juve Stabia, Cittadella, Sassuolo and Padova
amongst his former employers.
