Chelsea Outcast Proves His Critics Wrong After Questionable Treatment From Sarri
Published: May 14, 2019Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses was obviously not rated by Maurizio Sarri who didn't give the former Super Eagles star much opportunities to prove himself during the first half of the just concluded season.
The 28-year-old winger, who was one of Antonio Conte's trusted players in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, surprisingly failed to make Sarri's match-day squad on countless occasions.
Having seen how hard it was to convince the former Napoli manager, Victor Moses had to find a place where his quality will be utilized and appreciated.
Luckily, the former Crystal Palace man was sent on an 18-month loan to Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce in January.
Some Chelsea fans were happy with Chelsea's decision to part ways with the Nigerian but Moses is definitely enjoying his stay in Turkey
Ersun Yanal's men were in danger of being relegated during the first period of the season and many of their fans were beginning to give up on the team.
However, Victor Moses' introduction helped Fenerbahce move out of the relegation zone. The former England youth international was deployed at his natural right wing position where he contributed to two crucial league goals.
Apart from performing his attacking duties, Moses also help at the back of the pitch to prevent his team from conceding too many goals.
On the contrary, Maurizio Sarri's defenders were far from solid throughout the season as most of his defenders struggled for form.
The Italian tactician would have turned to Moses for inspiration but that was impossible due to his decision to let go of the former AFCON winner.
Though Moses still needs to improve some aspects of his game, it won't be out of place to suggest that he has proved all his critics wrong and he truly deserves a place in Sarri's team.
