Seven Games And Counting: Iheanacho Benched As City Beat Monaco In Champions League Thriller

Manchester City defeated Monaco 5-3 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night in one of the most entertaining Champions League games of all time.<br /><br />For the seventh straight game in all competitions, Kelechi Iheanacho did not get playing time though he made the bench just as was the case against Huddersfield in the FA Cup last weekend.<br /><br />The Principality side led 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals from <span class=\"hidden-xxs\" data-type=\"full\">Radamel</span> Falcao and<span class=\"hidden-xxs\" data-type=\"full\"> Kylian</span> Mbappe Lottin, after <span class=\"hidden-xxs\" data-type=\"full\">Raheem</span> Sterling had opened the scoring for City on 26 minutes. <br /><br />Sergio Aguero equalized in the 58th minute, with Sterling providing the assist after directing the ball behind the defense, then an excellent lob by Falcao restored the visitors one-goal advantage three minutes later. <br /><br />Man City looked to be out of the tie but their perseverance and fitness paid off in the final 15 minutes when <span class=\"hidden-xxs\" data-type=\"full\">John</span> Stones and Leroy Same scored to give Pep Guardiola<span class=\"body1\"></span><span class=\"body1\"><span class=\"body1\">&rsquo;s side a two-goal buffer.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br /></span></span>&nbsp;<br /><br /><br />
