Chelsea have named six players of Nigerian descent in their UEFA Youth League squad.
UEFA's official website has published Chelsea's official squad list for the group stage of the competition ahead of their opening Group E fixture.
The group stage of the UEFA Youth League mirrors that of the men's first team in the Champions League, meaning the young Blues will do battle with Dinamo Zagreb, Salzburg and AC Milan.
Fresh from being recalled from a loan spell at Welling United, goalkeeper Prince Adegoke has been included on Chelsea's roster along with Richard Olise, Somto Boniface, Chinonso Chibueze, Louis Flower and intelligent left-footed winger Tudor Mendel-Idowu.
Mendel-Idowu, Boniface, Chibueze and Adegoke will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Flower and Olise who made their debuts in the UEFA Youth League last season.
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina is Chelsea's all-time appearance maker in the UEFA Youth League with twenty games played, while the top-scoring Nigeria-eligible player for the Londoners is Dominic Solanke who netted twelve times.
Apart from Aina, current Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Chidozie Awaziem (Porto), Frank Onyeka (FC Midtjylland), Umar Sadiq (AS Roma) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City) have also featured in the UEFA Youth League.
