Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted teenage Nigeria-eligible midfielder Miguel Azeez to first team training ahead of his side's English Premier League meeting with Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on Tuesday, January 26.
Azeez has been on the fringes of the Arsenal first team this season, training with the squad on countless occasions but has yet to make his debut in a domestic competition including the Premier League.
One of the exciting players in the academy ranks, the central midfielder was named in the matchday squad for Europa League matches against Molde, Rapid Vienna and Dundalk, and went on to make his professional debut against the Irish opponents, coming off the bench to replace another Hale End product Joe Willock in the 83rd minute.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in September 2019, two months after the start of his scholarship deal.
He scored his first goal in the Premier League 2 in Arsenal's 5-0 rout of Brighton & Hove last Friday.
