Super Eagles Goalkeeper Uzoho Undergoes Successful Operation

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is now set for his rehabilitation programme following a successful knee operation.

Uzoho copped the serious external meniscus and hip injury in Nigeria's international friendly against Brazil on October 13 in Singapore which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The AC Omonia of Cyprus goalkeeper on loan from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna came off the pitch in the 63rd minute and it is unknown how long the former Golden Eaglets shot-stopper will be out for albeit he is expected to be out for at least six months.

Uzoho posted a picture of himself Friday on his confirmed Instagram handle, to announce the positive outcome of his operation.

Uzoho who has 16 caps for Nigeria has played five times for  his club this season, posting three clean sheets.

Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr handed a recall to in-form Kaizer Chiefs star Daniel Akpeyi following the unavailability of the 21-year-old glovesman for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
