Super Eagles Midfielder Given Extra One-Game Ban By FA For Pushing Referee

Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers have confirmed via their official webpage that Hope Akpan has been given an extra one-game ban following his dismissal against Sheffield Wednesday on February 14th.<br /><br />The defensive midfielder was first handed a three-game ban for pushing the referee after he was sent off, and an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing has now found him guilty of violent conduct. <br /><br />Thus, Akpan will now be unavailable for selection for three more games after missing the loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend.<br /><br />He will miss games against Burton Albion (Feb. 24),&nbsp; Derby County (Feb. 28th) and Wigan Athletic (March 4th).<br /><br />Blackburn Rovers were fined &pound;5,000 by the Football Association. <br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : rovers.co.uk<br />
