Speaking to the Super Eagles Media Team on Instagram Live, goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has picked Manchester United as his favourite club in the English Premier League but has admitted that he supported La liga giants Real Madrid growing up.
The Heartland glovesman still has a good relationship with former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo and both players roomed together before the Red Devils striker called time on his international career.
"I will join my friend 'Mummy' Ighalo in Manchester United', it is possible. I supported Real Madrid growing up," Ezenwa replied when asked to name his favourite Premier League club and team he supported as a kid.
Quizzed on his most difficult teammate in training sessions, Ezenwa responded : "There are two but I'll choose one, Ighalo. Any training session, he teases me my neck must shake and even though we have trained and trained at the tail end he'll score."
Though he has never faced Ronaldo in his career, Ezenwa reckons that the former Manchester United striker is currently the best player on the planet.
On the chances of a local based goalkeeper breaking into the Super Eagles starting line-up, he said : "Sure it can happen, I don't see anything difficult. You have to be ready, give your best because the manager of the team is watching.
"When I was given the opportunity to keep, how did I get it? In training sessions, I keep giving my best, once you do well you get that shirt and keep playing.
"It can happen, it's all about being focused, being fit, doing what you know how to do best."
