Super Eagles starting XI v Iran: Okoye, Ajayi, Iwobi, Ndidi, Lookman in; Otele, Fernandez, Onyeka bench

Manager Eric Chelle has announced his starting lineup for the Super Eagles' international friendly against Iran at the Corendon Airlines Park in Antalya, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Even though it is a friendly fixture with only Fifa ranking points at stake, the Malian tactician has opted to field what appears, on paper, to be his strongest possible starting lineup.

It means Udinese star Maduka Okoye has gotten the nod in goal over Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye.

And he will be shielded by a back four of Bright-Osayi Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Igoh Ogbu and Bruno Onyemaechi.

Wilfred Ndidi, who skippers the side, is joined in midfield by Alex Iwobi.

In the absence of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman assumes the role of Nigeria's most important player and has been named in the starting XI, alongside Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon.

Sevilla forward Akor Adams, who made a splash in his maiden appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, leads the attack.

Among the substitutes are Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez,  Lazio's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Porto's Zaidu Sanusi, Genk's Yira Sor, Coventry City's Frank Onyeka and Hamburg's  Philip Otele.
