Training started with twenty-two players with the only absentee being Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu.
However, Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, Brighton's Leon Balogun and Udinese's Troost-Ekong trained alone.
After the first twenty minutes of training, the squad was split into two groups with goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai, Jamilu Collins, Olamilekan Adeleye, Brian Idowu, John Ogu, Ogenekaro Etebo, Ahmed Musa, Isaac Success and Victor Osimhen playing for the team without bibs.
The other team which wore purple colored bib contained : goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo, Semi Ajayi, Mikel Agu, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Henry Onyekuru and Kelechi Iheanacho.
The players, especially Ahmed Musa, kept switching teams as the training match progressed.
Ikechukwu Ezenwa was not used in the training match, the Enyimba star underwent special training with the goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu.
