Three Nigerian Strikers Doubtful To Face Arsenal In The Premier League On Tuesday
It is all but confirmed that Victor Anichebe will not be in action at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night when Sunderland square off against Arsenal in their penultimate game of the season.
The Super Eagles star limped out of action against Swansea after 37 minutes last weekend, and the Black Cats manager David Moyes admitted that he was sweating on the striker's fitness during his press conference on Monday.
Anichebe has struggled with injuries this season, missing up to eight weeks earlier this year due to a knee injury, but looked fit in his last five matches before the meeting with the Swans.
Young strikers Joel Asoro and Josh Maja are unlikely to be called upon by Moyes because of Wednesday's Premier League International Cup final against European giants FC Porto.
Sunderland have been relegated from the Premier League while their opponents today, Arsenal, are still chasing a Champions League spot.
