Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has revealed that Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is gradually adapting to life at the Spanish club.
Lookman joined the Rojiblancos permanently during the winter transfer window from Atalanta, after a challenging start to the season in Italy.
The Nigeria international has impressed early in Spain, registering two goals and two assists in his first three appearances across all competitions.
Speaking ahead of the game against Rayo Vallecano, Simeone confirmed that Lookman, along with fellow new signings Rodrigo Mendoza and Obed Vargas, is adjusting to his new environment.
"Obed Vargas is trying to adapt to the team, as are Rodrigo Mendoza and Lookman; all three are in the same situation," the Argentine manager was quoted as saying by Estadio Deportivo.
Simeone added that he hopes the trio will continue to work hard in training to earn more minutes on the pitch.
"They've come to help us, and we hope that little by little they'll give their best in training so that we can have more of them playing time in matches."
Lookman, who is yet to open his account in La Liga, will be eager to maintain his strong form and get on the scoresheet against Rayo Vallecano.
