Canada Soccer has unveiled the national team squad for the upcoming March international window in Toronto, with Les Rouges set to take on Iceland and Tunisia in a pair of pre-World Cup friendly matches.
Jesse Marsch, coach of Canada, has selected three players of Nigerian descent in his squad, namely Crystal Palace loanee Owen Goodman, Plymouth Argyle attacker Aribim Pepple and Villarreal striker Tani Oluwaseyi.
Barnsley goalkeeper Goodman was previously called up to a Flying Eagles training camp in January 2023 ahead of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations but opted not to participate.
After committing his international future to Canada, the former England U20 international earned his first senior call-up for Canada's November fixtures against Ecuador and Venezuela, though he remained an unused substitute in both matches.
Plymouth Argyle forward Pepple’s impressive performances, where he has scored 14 goals, earned him his first senior call-up to Canada.
Like Goodman, Pepple is also eligible to represent England and Nigeria and was invited to a Golden Eaglets training camp ahead of the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup.
Should he play in the 2026 World Cup, the Kettering-born forward would be cap-tied to Canada.
Another former Nigeria youth team invitee, Promise David, who represented Nigeria at U23 level before switching allegiance to Canada, has not been called up for this camp after suffering a long-term injury that required surgery.
Abuja-born striker Tani Oluwaseyi is already cap-tied to Canada, having featured at the 2024 Copa América.
