Sweden U21 manager H&aring;kan Ericson has named Sunderland wonderkid Joel Asoro in his 23-player squad list for international friendlies later this month. <br /><br />The attacking midfielder or striker qualifies to represent the Scandinavian nation because he was born in Sweden to Nigerian parents.<br /><br />Asoro will travel with the European U21 champions to Marbella where they will hold a training camp March 20 to 28, and tackle Serbia (March 24) and Czech Republic (March 27) in friendly matches. <br /><br />A former Sweden U16 and U17 international, he has kept his place in the squad after making his debut against Spain last September.<br /><br />Joel Asoro is the youngest ever player of Nigerian descent to feature in the English Premier League, aged 17 years and 117 days.<br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br />Photo Credit : safc.com <br /><br /><br /><br />
