Chelsea Star Mikel Pleased By Form Of Arsenal, Man City Wonderkids
Published: October 21, 2016Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is backing the Super Eagles to improve, and has pointed out the array of young talents in the squad, including Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Manchester frontman Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Nigerian squad that started October’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia had an average age of 24, with two 20-year-olds finding the back of the net in the away fixture.
The national team have made good progress in the latest Fifa ranking published on Thursday, climbing four spots to number 60 in the world, which has pleased Mikel much.
“.@NGSuperEagles â¬�ï¸� 4 places in FIFA world rankings ð���ð��¿ with our young squad we will continue to give everything, work hard and improve ð��³ð��¬, ” Mikel tweeted.
The young Nigeria squad will send a big statement to the world if they can beat Algeria in next month’s World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
