Published: March 02, 2019Two Chelsea loanees in the shape of Ola Aina and Kenneth Omeruo have been ranked the top two most in-form Nigerian players in Europe's top five leagues for the month of February by CIES Football Observatory.
With only two appearances for Bordeaux in Ligue 1 last month, the top performer for January, Samuel Kalu has missed out on the top five.
The CIES Football Observatory has rated
players on a match-by-match basis by taking into account the pitch
production and efficiency at both individual and collective level to compile the list.
The statistics suggest Ola Aina was the most outstanding Nigerian player last month, with a ranking of 78.8 ahead of CD Leganes defender Omeruo at 72.7.
The wing-back is enjoying a fine season at Torino and played ninety minutes each in their four games against SPAL, Udinese, Napoli and Atalanta last month, scoring his maiden goal in the Serie A on February 10 and helping the team post four shutouts.
The third player on the list is Alex Iwobi who was ranked 69.3. With the exception of the 5-1 win against Bournemouth, the Hale End Academy product started all of Arsenal's league matches last month and was on target against Huddersfield Town.
William Troost-Ekong remains a key figure for Udinese and is the fourth highest ranked Nigerian at 68.7 while Levante winger Moses Simon has broken into the top five with a ranking of 66.3.
