Nigeria Could Provisionally Cap-Tie Ex-Man Utd Starlet Kehinde, Midfielder Training With Olympic Team
Published: March 07, 2019The Nigeria Football Federation could provisionally cap-tie former Manchester United attacking midfielder Tosin Kehinde when the Olympic Eagles face Libya in a 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations this month.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands the 20-year-old has arrived in Abuja to begin training with the Dream Team ahead of their trip to Tunisia for the first leg of the qualifiers.
The Lagos-born starlet had the opportunity to play for England, having lived in the country for several years before transferring to CD Feirense in August 2018 but Nigeria are in pole position for his services.
Kehinde affirmed his commitment to play for the Nigerian National Teams when he visited the Super Eagles Crowne Plaza Hotel in London in March 2018 before a friendly against Serbia and held positive talks with Nigeria Football Federation Vice President Shehu Dikko, Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi and manager Gernot Rohr.
Although he has fallen off the radar after his move to Portugal, the NFF have kept to their word of inviting him to the Dream Team.
Meanwhile, the Dream Team were held to a 2-2 draw by their opponents in a friendly on Thursday morning.
