Nigerian Exports: U17 World Champions Score In Belgium; 18-Year-Old RB Bags Brace In Austria
Published: March 10, 2019Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi continued his brilliant goalscoring form as Royal Excel Mouscron were held to a 1-1 draw in a Belgian First Division A match at Stade Le Canonnier.
The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute but both teams were level at the break after Awoniyi equalised in the 33rd minute, his seventh goal in eight games since re-joining Mouscron in January 2019.
Still in the Belgian top flight, another U17 world champion in Victor Osimhen helped Sporting Charleroi to register a 2-1 win at Antwerp by finding the net in the 33rd minute.
The Wolfsburg loanee has now scored 12 goals in 26 games across all competitions this campaign.
There were three goals to report in the Austrian Bundesliga, with the performance of the day coming from an 18-year-old right back Emanuel Aiwu.
The Austria U19 international opened and closed the scoring in the 36th and 94th minute respectively as Admira Moedling beat SKN St. Poelten 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at BSFZ-Arena (Maria Enzersdorf).
At the Generali Arena, Bright Edomwonyi's 11th minute strike could not prevent Austria Vienna from losing 3-1 at home to Altach.
