'Next Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang' Announces Arrival Date For Nigeria U23 Duty
Published: March 15, 2019AC Spezia sensation David Okereke has given his word that he will report for international duty early next week amid speculation in the media that his Italian club are not willing to release him to the Nigeria Football Federation.
Allnigeriasoccer.com contacted renowned Italian agent Patrick Bastianelli, who used to handle the affairs of Odion Ighalo on behalf of Atta Aneka during his time with Udinese, to clarify on the availability of his client, Okereke for the two U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
Bastianelli told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''David Okereke is coming next week direct to Tunisia. His club Spezia have agreed to release him. He will be with the team on Monday.''
In a separate interview, Bastianell's Nigerian partner, Ben Itorho added : ''Of course he's available for the games, his club allowed him.
''It was wise for Spezia to allow him go because he's really doing very well and they have a bit of leverage. It's the discretion of the team to release him as it's not an A game.''
Dubbed the 'new Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang', Okereke has been in fantastic form for Spezia this season, having contributed to 16 goals (7 goals, 9 assists) from 23 appearances in the second-tier.
