Everton Loanee Henry Could Become Nigeria's First Ever 40M Euros Footballer
Published: March 21, 2019Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru could become Nigeria's first ever
footballer to cost 40 million euros (approximately N16.1 billion), with
reports linking him with a summer move to German champions Bayern
Munich.
Turkish sports daily Fanatik
claims Bayern Munich have contacted Everton over the availability of
the winger and the German club have been quoted a fee in the region of
forty million euros if they want to sign the Nigeria international.
The
€40 million fee would be a transfer record for a Nigerian player,
shattering the €27.7m Leicester City paid to Manchester City to sign
Kelechi Iheanacho in the summer of 2017.
Onyekuru's
transfer to Everton has not worked out well because he has not been
granted a British work permit and this is unlikely to change in August
whether or not he's included on Nigeria's roster for the 2019 Africa Cup
of Nations.
The 21-year-old has impressed this season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 11 goals in 24 Super Lig matches.
The former KAS Eupen wonderkid is also being courted by Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
