Super Eagles Chief Scout Agali: Seychelles, Egypt Games May Be Key In New National Team Call-Ups
Published: March 22, 2019Former Super Eagles striker Victor Agali has hinted that the performance of new players invited to the national team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and Tuesday's friendly against Seychelles and Egypt respectively will determine whether more players will be in the team ahead of the AFCON.
The Eagles head coach handed opportunities to Paul Onuachu, Ikuowem Udo, Ndifreke Effiong and Valentine Ozornwafor albeit the team are dominated by the regulars.
Speaking exclusively to allnigeriasoccer.com, Agali who is chief scout of the Eagles said:
"The Super Eagles coach is happy with the players he is working with presently so that is great.
"The issue of new players coming into the team is a technical one and I cannot speak for my boss.
"However we will like to see how the players play against Seychelles today and especially Egypt when we could more of the new boys," the onetime Hansa Rostock, Schalke 04 and OGC Nice star stressed.
Agali joined other former Nigeria internationals to take part in a novelty game ahead of the 4pm kickoff between Nigeria and Seychelles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
