As always, European teams monitored proceedings at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, with several of their players on international duty in the final game before returning to their clubs.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester City and FC Midtjylland officially reacted to the Super Eagles win against one of the favourites to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt.

Leicester City stated : ''Wilfred Ndidi, who helped Nigeria overcome Seychelles on Friday, earned his 24th cap as the Super Eagles beat Egypt.

Danish Superliga side Midtjylland were full of praise for history-maker Onuachu and tweeted : ''Paul Onuachu has scored a dream goal in his first start for Nigeria 🔥 The goal is even the fastest in Nigerian national team history.''
