Onuachu Plays Down Injury Fears After Twisting Ankle Against OB
Published: April 04, 2019FC Midtjylland striker Paul Onuachu has played down fears he suffered a serious injury after he was forced off in the closing minutes of his side's 4-0 rout of OB in the semifinal of Sydbank Pokalen on Wednesday.
The two-goal hero had to be replaced five minutes from time after twisting his ankle but he expects to feature in Sunday's Superliga clash against Esbjerg.
Explaining why he was substituted, Onuachu told bold.dk : ''I twisted my ankle, so I had to go out. I wasn't 100 percent after it happened.
''I believe I play on Sunday. I don't think it's so bad. It's okay now.''
Onuachu was delighted with the convincing victory over OB and is confident they can with the Sydbank Pokalen in May.
''I'm very happy with the team performance. We were really good in our organization. We scored four goals and kept a clean sheet, so it was a good performance.
''Our chances are great, but we have to wait and see if it is AaB or Brøndby we are up against. I don't care who we should meet,'' he concluded.
Onuachu has been involved in 25 goals (19 goals, 6 assists) from 33 appearances across all competitions for FC Midtjylland this season.
