'He's A Really Strong Player' - Osimhen Likened To Two Chelsea Legends By Ex-Inter Milan Star
Published: July 26, 2020Former Inter Milan and Torino midfielder Benoît Cauet has drawn similarities between the playing styles of Victor Osimhen and two ex-Chelsea players who have retired, Didier Drogba and George Weah.
Cauet believes the Nigeria international is a striker in the mould of Drogba and Weah because of his physical attributes.
"He doesn't have the strength of George Weah yet, but one thing is certain: this player has proven to have physical and technical qualities to be a great deal and still has a lot of room for improvement," Cauet said on Radio Musica Television programme Taca La Marca.
"Based on what has been seen this year he has "broad shoulders" to play as a leader. He is a player who looks like Weah, Drogba, for the physical strength they have and in the long run for the power."
Osimhen is on the verge of completing a big money move to Napoli
following a banner debut season in France that saw him score 18 goals in
all competitions and win the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé, awarded to the best
African player in Ligue 1.
"This year he has shown so much within the French league and deserves all the rumors we hear about him. Honestly, he's a really strong player," he added.
Osimhen was linked with possible moves to English Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, before agreeing terms with Napoli.
