Manchester United trying to hijack transfer of former Super Eagles invitee to Bayern Munich

According to German transfer market expert Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are trying to hijack Bayern Munich's deal for 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise.

The France U21 international has chosen to join Bayern Munich ahead of the Red Devils, Chelsea and Newcastle - the English outfits keenly interested in him.

Plettenberg has also added that Bayern Munich are determined to get the deal over the line after deciding to activate his release clause.

While there are still some details to iron out, a medical has been scheduled to take place this week which means the Bavarians could soon officially announce his signing.

Manchester United are one of the admirers of the Crystal Palace forward with the club trying to improve their attacking department but could now miss out on the French-Nigerian forward.

They are also trying to sign a striker with Super Eagles-eligible player Joshua Zirkzee on their radar.

Olise has been one of the best young forwards in the Premier League for the past two seasons, helping Crystal Palace preserve their top-flight status.

He was named the Eagles' Players' Player of the Season in 2023 after scoring two goals and registering 11 assists in the Premier League.

The French-Nigerian forward followed it up with 10 goals and six assists in the last campaign despite featuring in just half  number of Premier League games.
