Osimhen's friend sets the record straight on rumours linking Napoli-owned striker to Man Utd
Published: December 24, 2024
Buchi Laba, a close friend of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, has publicly debunked the growing rumours linking the forward to a January move to Manchester United.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in red-hot form since joining the Turkish giants in the summer.
With 12 goals and five assists in just 15 appearances across all competitions, the 25-year-old has cemented his status as one of Europe’s standout performers this season.
His dazzling displays have fueled speculation about his future, with Manchester United reportedly among the top clubs interested in his services.
However, Laba has taken to X to clarify the situation, labeling the reports as completely unfounded.
“This Report is 100% false. Victor Osimhen has no agent or representative. He has officially parted ways with him,” Laba wrote, referencing Osimhen’s recent decision to sever ties with his agent.”
Laba further clarified that Osimhen now works directly with his legal team and that neither Manchester United nor any other club has made formal contact with the player, Napoli, or Galatasaray.
"He works directly with his Lawyer now. There was no contact made with Victor, Napoli or Galatasaray. No discussion whatsoever," Laba emphasized.
This revelation is likely to cool the frenzy surrounding the striker’s potential move to Old Trafford and allow Osimhen to focus on his responsibilities with Galatasaray ahead of the January transfer window.
