The Kenneth Omeruo Record Neither Troost-Ekong Nor Leon Balogun Have
Published: April 09, 2019Kenneth Omeruo has been loaned out to five different clubs since his celebrated move to Chelsea from Sunshine Stars in January 2012, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
ADO Den Haag narrowly beat the drop in Omeruo's first season as a professional, finishing 15th on the 18-team Eredivisie table and maintained their top-flight status at the end of the 2012-2013 campaign.
The 25-year-old also helped Middlesbrough stay afloat in the Championship in the 18 months he was at the Riverside Stadium.
Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor, Omeruo's next two loan clubs, survived the drop during the three seasons he spent in Turkey.
If Leganes are not relegated at the end of this season, it would be the seventh consecutive season that the center back has helped his clubs avoid the drop.
While Leon Balogun suffered relegation with Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2013, Troost Ekong and Dordrecht were demoted from the Eredivisie at the end of the 2014-2015 season.
