Chukwuemeka remains a player of interest for Barcelona despite signing Euro 2024 top scorer Dani Olmo
Published: August 10, 2024According to Barcelona based Spanish sports newspaper Sport , Barcelona still retain an interest in Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka who has 37 Premier League appearances playing for Aston Villa and Chelsea.
The report revealed that the Catalans still have the 20-year-old on their radar should they decide to sign another midfielder after the arrival of 2024 European championship top scorer Dani Olmo.
It was also reported that the La Liga giants have sounded out the representatives of the Aston Villa academy product over a possible move but the decision on whether to further their pursuit will depend on manager Hansi Flick.
The German tactician is preparing for his first season with Barcelona and is involved in the arrival and departures of players, as inferred from this report.
Chukwuemeka's future with Chelsea is still unknown following the arrival of Enzo Maresca whose plan for the England youth international remains to be seen.
The signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City is also likely to affect the England youth international as the former worked with Maresca during his stay with the Foxes.
He has also been linked with AC Milan but the Rossoneri haven't stepped up an effort and Chelsea's £40m valuation may have hindered them from stepping up their effort.
